Principal's Forewords

Exordium …….

Swami Vivekananda has rightly said "Practice; do not preach; if you preach then prove by setting examples" So, if we expect good human values and citizenship to be inculcated in our students then firstly our teachers need to practice of the same. The teachers are to be role models full of energy, motivation, honesty, commitment etc......then only we can expect transforming the society...the teacher education institutes must pay attention to do something in this direction.. As the teachers are the soul of any society, then the progress of the society will depend on the quality of its teachers.
According to Dr. Kamlesh Joshipura, Vice Chancellor, Indian Institute of Teacher Education, Gandhinagar (Gujarat) in the second decade of the 21st century, education has an enormous role to play in the social, intellectual and political transformation of the world. From UNESCO to UGC, all are of one accord that never before education was invested with powers as well as responsibilities of the kind we see today. He says that while our policy reflects our commitment to transformation of education, we have yet to find a way of translating it into reality. Thus, as we tend to get carried away by the brilliance of ICT or the missionary zeal to change the curriculum, what we fail to see is that all of this is of significance when a teacher makes it his mission to fulfill the vision. He stresses that we have heavily invested ourselves in everything except teacher quality. To participate and contribute in eradicating the socio-politico-economic issues rampant in the country, universities can ensure that students passing out of the universities learn the lessons of good citizenship and evolve a sense of responsibility toward the nation. Such endeavors are going on from other platforms in public life but universities can make a big difference in this context. We need more initiatives in terms of institutions dedicated to teacher education.
Keeping in view this aspect MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Teachers Training Academy, B. Ed College ( English Medium), Rajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, Pune is always attempts to do things differently by going beyond the prescribed Savitribai Phule Pune University B. Ed syllabus. In doing so we at MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul Teachers Training Academy also prepare our teacher trainees to face the challenges by equipping them with appropriate knowledge, experience, guidance and skills required in teaching – learning process. Over the last few years MIT VGTTA, B. Ed College ( English Medium), Rajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, Pune has arranged for workshops, training modules, symposia for pre-service as well as in-service teachers, empowering them with latest teaching pedagogies, enabling them to be smart ICT users. We also empathetically stress on value education, gender sensitivity, inclusive education, environmental issues and concerns and over all personality enhancement of the teacher trainees. We provide trainings in Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), reflective teaching, differentiated learning, life skills, effective teaching through active learning. As we believe in lifelong learning, the staff of MIT VGTTA, B. Ed College endeavors to reinvigorate themselves as teacher educators by constantly keeping abreast with the latest trends in the field of education, researches, and methodologies.
I am elated to present you all the kaleidoscope of the activities that our present batch of B. Ed students participated as well as conducted under the adept guidance of my teacher educators.
I also take this opportunity to wish my present batch of teacher trainees all the best for their future endeavors. I want them to remember “The ups and down in life are also very important to keep us going…. because a straight line even in an ECG means we are not alive….!” Teaching is self learning process. It is about Hard Work.. There is no alternative for hard work. “Path of success is not easy, nor swift”. Everybody has to go through scratch. There is no magic which can make wonders in one night. We have to take efforts, planning, follow-up, then only good things can come up. “If you have missed anything in life, don’t fill your eyes with tears! It may hide yet another beautiful thing standing in front of you!!”
Be the source of innovative ideas and may be innovative ideas will come in our mind when we are busy in some other important work like travelling, reading, writing, cooking etc. Once the time passes we hardly try to remember them. So, be always with pocket diary with you, whenever such innovations and dynamic thoughts come in your mind just note down them. After that whenever you will get free time, just revisit them and try to implement them in your teaching – learning process.  Do these exercise continuously; I am sure that each one of you will be wonderful teachers. Another thing which I would love my teacher trainees to do is research.... Research should be your passion. Make research as your passion, don’t do it only to get certificate, or good job, or to get high API score. Do it to make your teaching profession a fulfilling and enriching one.
Lastly, each one should remember that we are our own creator of our success; we ourselves have to do the things differently and constructively

“The mind is like a parachute; it works best when it is open" – The XIV Dalai Lama
